One life can make a difference. Please read 'The Heart' below.
The Heart:
'Tomorrow morning,' the surgeon began, 'I'll open up your heart...'
'You'll find Jesus there,' the boy interrupted.
The surgeon looked up, annoyed, 'I'll cut your heart open,' he continued, to see how much damage has been done...'
'but when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there,' said the boy.
The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly. 'When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next.'
'But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart.'
The surgeon had had enough. 'I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And I'll find out if I can make you well.'
'You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there.'
The surgeon left. The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, '...damaged aorta, damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration. No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis: here he paused, 'death within one year.' He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. 'Why?' he asked aloud. 'Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and you've cursed him to an early death. Why?' The Lord answered and said, 'The boy, my lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock, and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow.' The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. 'You created that boy, and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?' The Lord answered, 'The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for He has done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb.' The surgeon wept... The surgeon sat beside the boy' s bed; the boy's parents sat across from him.
The boy awoke and whispered, 'Did you cut open my heart?'
'Yes,' said the surgeon.
'What did you find?' asked the boy.
'I found Jesus there,' said the surgeon.

Troy,
I am overwhelmed so I am sorry if this note sounds jumbled up. It is heartwarming to see you and your family welcome Nolan and make him a permanent member of your family. I am glad you had this opportunity to see Nolan and admire him. He is beautiful and so much at peace. Though he was with you for a short while, he has given you (and us) beautiful memories for life. Praying for you all. Take care.

Your son is so beautiful.
Please know that you have my heartfelt sympathy and prayers during this very difficult time of earthly loss.
Nolan is a true angel as evident by his picture. He was truly blessed to have you as parents as you were to have him. May his love leave a lasting imprint in your hearts and may he become a guardian angel over your family. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. Adela
Ms. Zuckero, First, thankyou so very much for giving me your blog address. My name is Michelle I was one of your nurses that took care of you at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. There is not enough words that could come close to expressing my regrets to your family. God is so good and He is always there. Eventhough this is a hard time for you and your family. He loves you very much and knows your sorrows for little Nolan, which, by the way is absolutely gorgeous. It will be tough for a while but he will not give you more than you can handle. Remember joy will come in the morning. But for now this is your time to grieve. Just think you will see Nolan again soon. God Bless you and your family .. Michelle
oh my goodness he is beautiful! I have sat and stared at Nolan's picture with tears in my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss but will rejoice for this precious miracle. You can see just how good God is when you look at Nolan and your sweet family. He will continue to carry you. I will continue to pray with love,
Kim
Little Nolan is beautiful. Its wonderful to see a precious baby boy treated with love and dignity during his time on earth. That time will never seem like enough as you grieve all the things you will miss through the years. Our little boy Samuel died 8 years ago this spring. He was our first baby. He too lived for only an hour. My heart aches for you. We know we will see our baby again and look forward to that day. May God hold you close during this time.
We are very sorry for your loss. Words cannot explain the heart ache I feel for you right now. Nolan is a precious baby. I appreciate you sharing this blog and picture with everyone. I'm very sorry that we could not be there for memorial service, but you are not forgotten in our prayers. I loved the poem you shared that brought tears to our eyes. We are here for you and only a call away.
Love, The Rausch Family
