We have a name

The question we are most often asked over the past 8 months, is "Do you have a name for the baby?" And always the answer has been "not yet". We have had a boy name for 13 years and never the need to use it. However, somehow the name did not seem right anymore. Since our girls are old enough to have strong opinons about names, we solicited their input. It wasn't exactly a democratic process, but after much debate from all four members of our family, we have finally agreed on a name for our new little one! Nolan Alexander Zuckero will arrive into this world on August 27th (unless God has plans for him to come sooner). My doctor's appointment this week went well. Nolan's little heartbeat is still strong and he is expected to weigh around 4 pounds at birth. Only 12 more days until we get to meet him face to face!!!

But now, thus says the Lord, your God, and he who formed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

Nolan comes from a name that means "champion" or "chariot fighter". Alexander appears in the Bible as the one who helps Jesus bear the cross on the journey to Calvary. What a strong name and both of them put together makes for a beautiful picture....fighting to live and serve the Lord. Beautiful. In Him, Karen

Since I am not always so great with words of encouragement, I have been looking through a prayer book this afternoon to find a prayer that would ask God for courage, guidance and protection.
I found so many that I liked and silently prayed them and marked quite a few to perhaps send you, but finally settled on this one by Patrick of Ireland.
" May the strength of God pilot us.
May the power of God preserve us.
May the wisdom of God instruct
us.
May the hand of God protect us.
May the way of God direct us.
May the shield of God defend us."

I am not sure as to what to say besides my heart and prayers go out to you, your family and baby Nolan.

I read about your story from Troy's message here at work and although I don't personally know your family I am very close to mine and send all of my love to you and yours.

Your whole family is beautiful and I am sure Nolan will be just the same.

God be with you.

Troy and Karen,
My prayers will be with all of you and especially this Wednesday. We can't always have the answers we search for and God only knows the answers. I can see by reading Troy's email that your faith is very strong and it will carry all of you through the worst of times and the best of times. The arrival of a new baby is a blessing and no matter what, it is still a blessing. I will tell you that 49 years ago when my mom had my sister, the doctors didn't expect much. She was born with Down Syndrome and she has led a fairly healthy life.
We are all made in God's own image and your baby is a blessing in disguise.
My thoughts and prayers, always.
